In the very beginning of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Stormtroopers, under the leadership of the militant, Kylo Ren, invade the planet Jakku. Ren kills Lor San Tekka, a resistance ally who refuses to betray his people. Kylo Ren then orders the Stormtroopers to execute all villagers.  An interesting side note about Stormtroopers – the term Stormtrooper actually refers to Imperial German soldiers from World War I, and is also possibly a derivative of the word Sturmabteilung (“Storm Detachment”), which was a military organization of the German Nazi Party, which helped Hitler rise to power.
